Sourdough French Toast

Delicious slices of heaven for you to enjoy in the morning or any time really.

- 6 Slices sourdough bread

- 2 Tbsps butter

- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil

Custard Ingredients:

- 3 Large eggs

- 1 Cup heavy cream

- 1/4 Tsp fine sea salt

- 1/2 Tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/4 Tsp ground nutmeg

- 2 Tbsp white sugar

- 1 Tsp vanilla extract


1. Preheat oven to 400° and place a baking sheet inside. Heat skillet over medium-low heat with the butter and oil.

2. Use a whisk to combine the eggs, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a bowl. Pour the custard mixture into a shallow baking dish. Soak 2 slices of bread 10 minutes on each side.

3. Cook the slices on the 3-4 minutes per side. (Place the next 2 slices in the custard to soak while the current slices are cooking.) Transfer to the oven on the baking sheet to keep them warm until you are ready to serve.
